How Mutual Fund Withdrawals Work

Redemption, liquidity, exit loads and tax considerations.

A redemption is an instruction to sell units according to the scheme's applicable rules. The amount you receive can depend on NAV, exit load where applicable, taxes and settlement timelines.

Before withdrawing, identify the reason. A goal-funded withdrawal is different from a panic-driven redemption after a market fall. If a short-term liability is foreseeable, liquidity should have been planned before the market event.
