Find duplicate exposure across mutual funds.
Two funds can have different names and still have significant common holdings. Basic holdings overlap can be estimated from common security weights, but a stronger analysis also considers sector, factor, style, market-cap, fund-house and macro-sensitivity overlap.
Overlap is not automatically bad. The question is whether the repeated exposure is intentional and justified by the portfolio's role.
